Keep Being Kind

This is Emma: a server at Stacks who lit up their dining room with her infectious energy and smile.

I gave her this little token of appreciation right after she took our order and served us water.

When she returned with our food, the token was attached to her blouse, “I love this so much! Thank you for turning my morning around. This is my flourish for the day!” she announced with a grin.

In the seven years I’ve been handing these out, many have pinned them up on the staff board or saved them in their wallets. Her immediately displaying it as flourish was a first!

As we left, I gave another token to Lawton, her colleague who snapped this photo. He held it up and said, “I will hold on to this with pride.”
