My creative journey is about connection, about using my art to bridge the gap between hearts. It's about celebrating the unsung heroes who often go unnoticed, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.
It all started as a simple creative outlet.
I had a surplus of ceramic tiles and a newfound love for fluid art. I poured my heart onto those tiles, transforming them into vibrant expressions of color and movement. Little did I know that these humble creations would soon become much more than “just art.”
When I started sharing my creations with my community—offering them as free gifts on Nextdoor—I thought I was simply clearing space in my studio. But the responses I received made it clear: these weren’t just pieces of art. They were tokens of recognition—little gestures that said, I see you.
Inspired by this realization, I began experimenting with different mediums, handing out thousands of these over the years—to grocery clerks, janitors, bus drivers, teachers, and travelers. And each time, I’m reminded of how deeply we all long to be seen.
My upcoming book, Little Tokens, Big Ripples (Schiffer Craft, 2026), is an invitation to join this practice. Not as a craft project, but as a way of being—a mindful, artful rebellion against disconnection. Inside, you’ll find my favorite techniques, real-life stories, poetic prompts, and creative nudges to help you make and give with heart.
