Smile

I was in a weird place mentally this afternoon...just the thought of having been home for 70 days with no in-person interaction with the outside world was getting to me...so I started sending out a bunch of handmade cards with uplifting messages in them. It helped. I hadn’t done any crafting since morning...you know how some days go...so I picked up a stencil, got my distress inks and started doing tone on tone on blue cardstock.

As I moved my inks around other colors spoke to me...my initial plan was to make the image all blue and leave it at that...how depressing would that be!?! I’m so glad I reached for my reds, pinks and yellows!! I also added some fine contouring in her face with a subtle lavender and some final touches with glaze and glitter pens. The sentiment strip just rounded it off beautifully, I thought.

Lastly, I sprayed some water and I just love how it added some movement to the inks and broke up what cold have otherwise been a monotonous tonal image.

Another single layer card thay came together in less than 30 minutes.

Now, who wants this mailed to them? Drop me a comment and if there’s more than one person who wants it, I’ll do a random drawing on Friday, May 15 during my YouTube Live at 2 pm Pacific Time.

NOTE: I can only mail the card to you if you reside in the United States of America.

Mansi, I love when working on a card that seems to not be working, something happens and the creativity takes over and it becomes a real gem. I love the card and we be proud to call it mine.❤️
