CCC May 15 Reveal

I am so excited to be part of another wonderful Colorado Craft Company reveal today! Every time there’s a new release, I feel like I fall in love with these stamps a little more. Lots of talented folks are participating in this release blog hop today and I’m excited that one of you lovely people will have the chance to win a $25 gift card if you leave a comment at each stop! Link to all the blogs are at the end of this post.

For today’s card, I decided to marry my love for photography and painting. I used Daniel Smith watercolors, a medium I am still quite unfamiliar with, on Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper to paint this image from the “Watch This” stamp set.

As usual, I used my favorite Gina K Warm Glow amalgam ink for stamping the image, Princeton Neptune Brushes for the watercoloring and Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils for some subtle shading in the nooks and crannies after the painting was done.

I also created my own envelope for this square 4.5×4.5 card using my handy envelope maker and used another dog image from the same stamp set (colored with a metallic gold pen) to bring it all together.

This time, I decided to stay away from giving this dog clothes, since I wanted to try coloring a more “realistic” painting…did I succeed?

Besides using my own photo from Cabo as a backdrop for this card, I also used “sand” texture from Liquitex to give this a little mixed media feel. I also loved using Dura-lar in place of acetate to mute out the photo in the back so the focus is on the dog. The Hang In There sentiment is from the citrus-berry cupcake stamp from Colorado Craft Company.

There is something so simple and yet so special about Anita Jeram’s critters and the sentiments Colorado Craft Company pairs with them.

The Creative Stretch: Be Playful

Day 4 prompt of The Creative Stretch was “be playful” and you all know that’s something that falls right in my wheelhouse. But there was a twist … Andrea and Minette invited us to play in a way we normally wouldn’t. I am very experimental in my art, combining media wantonly and following all of…

The Creative Stretch: Be Devoted

This was unexpected and became deeply personal really fast. I did not expect to go on the emotional roller coaster that the prompt (be devoted) from The Creative Stretch Warmup took me on. I hadn’t even given “devoted” much credence when I first saw the word…it didn’t “appeal” to me as much as intentional and…

Hi there, I am Mansi, a self-taught artist based in Silicon Valley. I was a full-time communications professional for two decades, with a desk job and a six-figure salary until I decided to become a mom. Motherhood, as many will attest, can be extremely exhausting, especially in those first years. Art became my quiet place. It restored my sense of self. It gave me renewed energy. It helped me become a better mom. I was led down the path of creation by instinct and “discovered“ in early 2019 by a fellow kindred spirit at one of my art pop-ups who asked me to join her entrepreneurial venture. While I immersed myself full time in the role of CFO and co-founder of this women-led venture supporting local women makers, I missed experimenting with mixed-media. So, in 2021, I've decided to focus my energies full time in finessing my craft, producing more online tutorials and offering in-person art workshops for both adults and children. Thank you for joining me on this adventure as I experiment, learn and continue creating custom pieces of joy.
